Being estranged and not speaking to or hearing from your family ever again because of what they did to you is a much different thing than being lonely in another country you felt the need to try to force your image of God on.

Loneliness sucks, though, and I sympathize with you on that.

I don’t get letters, I didn’t even get an email with “grandma died.” I found out by accident weeks later.
