Flaunting my Sexuality to Piss off the Straights
It’s ACE week after all!
I actually am not out to piss off straight people, but seeing as the mention of any sexuality apart from heterosexuality is enough to get some people to clutch their pearls and demand I shut up about it, if this does make any of them mad, then oh well. That’s not my issue, it’s theirs.
Like others of us say: we’re here and we’re queer. In my family alone we cover the L, T, Q, and A, perhaps more. Just because some heterosexual and cisgender people are angry that queer people exist does not mean it’s right to bully those who are not.
All this talk of “loving the sinner, not the sin,” is crap, but even if it were true, bullying is a sin. There are also claims of “speaking the truth in love,” but they usually leave the love part out and they aren’t telling the truth either.
I saw someone this morning claim that “love the sinner, hate the sin,” is in the Bible but when I asked them for chapter and verse, I did not get a response. I’ve read the Bible through many times, and I always miss things, and I’m open to having missed that. It’s not actually in the Bible, of course, but still, if they are going to claim it’s there, it would be easier to provide that reference. As a Christian I care what the Bible says.
