She insisted it’s a joke word that is essentially me making fun of myself.

I told her it’s the word law enforcement use, the word professional social workers use, the word both current and past gangbangers use to identify themselves but she was hung up on joke word and there would be no convincing her otherwise.

I was once a gangbanger and I’ve read a lot of memoirs, and I know social workers and previous law enforcement people and they all use it in that context.
