I don’t subscribe to the ridiculous theory that someone should get whatever they want at the expense of someone else just because they are older.

I’d stay home too or tell your husband you’re going to stand your ground in front of his mother if necessary. Maybe tell his mother the shit he’s pulling on you especially if she doesn’t want to go out.

One of my friends is 80 years old. I’m 38. Someone really tore into me one day because I “didn’t let him go in front of me.” He turned around and told them that I’m quite visibly disabled (using a walker), and that this person could see that.

He told him that he might be 80 years old but he can stand up without help and I can’t so he makes me go first and that this person needed to mind their own fucking business.
