I enjoyed Frankenstein, but I won’t be writing anything based on the classics. I find them mostly boring, completely uninspiring, and pretentious.

The absolute worse is Jane Austen.

I don’t feel the need to conform to what a bunch of men decided was part of the literary canon.

This means I have no desire to rewrite boring literature or fairy tales. I know some people who can do it well and I wish them luck if it’s their thing.

We all get writing inspiration from somewhere and it’s all legit. This route is just not for me and it’s not something I would buy and read but many would. :)
