I have the problem of no reciprocity. It's social media. I worked my ass off commenting and doing the stupid clapping thing they refuse to let go of. All I got were claps in return instead of actual engaged comments. I'd really rather get no claps and have people leave comments but it seems claps feed egos.

The people who preached about following by email and so I did to all the people I read regularly, they did not return the favor. I cared about helping them make money but I felt completely and utterly unsupported the last few months and so Medium is no longer my top priority.

I understand you don't follow by email, but you also read and engage, and you don't lecture people on the importance of following by email but not doing so yourself.

I got tired of waiting days on publications all the while they were publishing other stories. Just tell me no right at the start, I won't be offended, but don't leave me hanging for days.
