I loved this, you described it so well I could see it. I think it’s cool that your mom knew and let you do it anyway.

I’ve told my kids that 1) if you get into a place you need out of, I will always come get you despite whether you were supposed to be there or not and 2) never lie about it. It’s harder for me to help you sort it if you lie and I’m more worried about your safety than anything else.
