I think a lot of times it depends. I have many of the same concerns that you do. But as the victim of unspeakable violence, the stories are useful in my knowing I’m not alone. I think one point you made might be crucial: is it the person or people who were hurt speaking out, or someone looking to make a few bucks off of it. That might be the determining factor.
