I think that we should honor the person who wrote the song by not changing it. It could essentially be plagiarism. Writing their own song would have been just fine, but as a writer if my work was messed with like that I would be upset. I know the person who wrote it is long dead but doesn’t make any difference. They worked hard to write the song. All they needed to have done here is write their own. It has nothing to do with what they were portraying, and everything to do with erasing another person’s work.
