I used to be more active than I am now, mostly due to the fact that I’ve become disabled. I do what I’m able to do. I told my priest when I first came to my current parish that I was willing to help with a lot of stuff but I will not do anything in the kitchen or children’s ministry, don’t even even bother asking.

Some churches (like mine) appoint a person to coordinate some ministries and they ask for ideas and you give them an idea just to be told that this isn’t how they do things. I’ve largely given up and it’s due to the fact that that one person holds up progress.

I feel like the church betrayed me during lockdowns.
