If there is a price increase there needs to be a value increase also. It's not a bad platform now, and I'm okay with a tiered system, as long as it's not $10 a month, paid yearly. That means it's $120 a year, not $10 month. I hate the deceptive stuff and it would mean I couldn't afford to keep going.

I'm okay with a discount for paying a year up front, but if there's an increase I definitely need a month to month option. I wish there was a way to filter good writers from the people who just post anything and everything and aren't good writers. They need practice, sure, but if I'm paying extra I want to read good quality work.

It's complicated for sure, and I guess we will see what happens. I don't want to lose readers because they are priced out of the platform. Maybe they could bump it up to $6 a month, or grandfather people already paying $5 in for a certain period of time but $6 for new users.

I am not sure why what Twitter charges is in any way relevant, though. I've always hated Twitter. I hate the concept and I hate the cesspool it quickly became. I don't want to compete with something as awful as Twitter because there is no contest.
