I'm a Christian and your first point bugs the hell out of me too, because being saved from hell, to me, isn't the point of Christianity and it's not a good reason to be a Christian.

I'm a Christian because I met Jesus, saw something that spoke deeply to me, and wanted to follow him. I still have other Christians telling me I'm going to hell. Fear is never a good reason to be a Christian.

I've also worshipped Baal in the past and that didn't work out so well for me and Jesus is changing that part of my story. I saw his power to change my life in a positive way.

I'm not going to pretend I'm the shit or say "not all Christians," because Christians are often really fucking obnoxious. I tend to call them out but they don't like it very much. Ha.

I guess part of it for me too is that I don't believe praying a pretty prayer has anything to do with becoming a Christian, but baptism does. That will be contested forever and I'm not here to argue that with anyone, but I can tell you it makes a difference.

The biggest difference it makes is that I believe salvation is onging, I work towards it. I'm "saved from hell" (I don't think it exists in the way they think it does), and so I'm not acting out of a place of fear but a place of wanting to be transformed.

Anyway, I hope Christians get to being less obnoxious.
