I’m a short, fat woman. Once you’re fat, fashion punishes you by having nothing that looks nice available. If I want underwear, I’m stuck with briefs or high cuts. Why? Those aren’t comfortable and just because I’m fat doesn’t mean I should have to have ugly, uncomfortable knickers.
Most plus sized clothes are for tall women, and are too long for me. I also can’t find bras because they seem to think all fat women have big boobs. I need a larger band size but I’m a B-cup and can’t change that.
Clothes have gotten smaller overall. I don’t mind the plus size section being separate because it means I have a slight chance of finding what I need instead of zero. It would be great maybe if they call it something else, or just did different groupings of sizes.
I just want to be comfortable and look nice. Is that too much to ask for? Society says I’m lazy because I’m fat, but for me, obesity is a trauma response.
