I'm glad your mother was relaxed, it makes life easier.

As long as my kids do their best I'm good with the results. I have one that is a straight A student, one that purposely gets B's instead of the A's he's capable of because he doesn't want attention drawn to him, and one that has been bullied so bad who never got anything higher than a C.

Things got so bad at school that they are homeschooled now and that oen that should be starting 10th grade in the fall I have to work her at a 6th grade level to catch her up. I tell her not to look at the grade number, but to look at it as having a skill set that once you have these skills you work on the next skills.
