I’m so sorry that happened to you. I’ve been in that kind of situation myself many times. It’s horrific and I’m glad you finally got free. It must be hard trying to process now.

The movie “The Sound of Freedom” is offensive and highly problematic. The director was recently arrested for, get this: kidnapping. Not only that, it’s a right-wing propaganda film for people with a white savior complex.

I have been trafficked (across international borders) many times, and this movie is very offensive to me and other trafficking victims I know of.

These people don’t give a damn about trafficking but the movie will help the conservatives win elections by pretending to care. It’s a trendy topic they took hold of and then made themselves look like saviors when they are not. Once the issue no longer helps them win elections they will drop it like a hot potato.

Have you noticed how many conservative states still allow child marriage, and how many politicians have fought against changing the laws?

These are the same kinds of people that mock me, tear my story to shreds and claim it never happened, that I have “false memories,” etc.

I started out life as a child sex slave and was trafficked to other countries from around age 15 onwards. There are great people that care about trafficking, but the people who created this movie are not those people.

Maybe there is something better that we could all find to recommend that’s not a right wing propaganda movie.
