It frustrates me to constantly be told to quit “playing the trauma Olympics” when my abuse was horrific and someone else is saying that something much smaller traumatized them.

I don’t think it’s out of place as someone whose parents used them to make kiddie porn, beat them black, blue, and bloody on a regular basis, who used actual military torture techniques to point out that I’m more than likely more traumatized than they are and therefore I can talk about it any way I wish.

When this happens it’s usually because someone who has survived a small trauma wants to police what language I can use because “they are a survivor and that word is offensive.” It gets so old.
