It’s hard, because here, most people utterly refuse to use the right pronouns and so my kids would probably take it that way too. But they would listen when you said you didn’t mean it. Please know that this is even harder for the transgender child. It really is. People that are open unfortunately are seen as someone who refuses until they know better.
