Lots of memories here. People tell me I’ve swung too much the opposite way with my kids as is being too permissive and I tell them I’d rather that than the alternative.

My kids know that if I use the “because I said so” or something similar it’s because I’m not in a position to explain right in that moment and that I really need them to do it and we can talk later. But it’s only used out of necessity in the moment.
