Parental rights go both ways. Children of gay parents have the right to talk about their families with their friends. It means I have the right to choose gender affirming healthcare for my child which conservatives are blocking without even asking medical and psychiatric professionals. And conservatives keep mentioning surgery in order to justify their radical and cruel actions even though they know damn well that the surgery isn’t available to minors. But it’s a lie they can use to radicalize their base. In my state not even adults can get bottom surgery because nobody does it.

I know someone who got a breast enhancement for no other reason than she wanted bigger breasts. She’s an adult a little younger than me. Had she been a transgender adult it would have been a lot harder to get the exact same surgery.

Children do not have access to gender affirming surgery. Most adults don’t even have access to it. But conservatives continue to pretend they do to keep people riled up and to justify cruelty.

Why should I as a Christian parent not be allowed to make decisions for my child just like conservatives are wanting for themselves?
