Thankfully my church family affirms LGBTQ people (I would not be there if they didn’t), and they all know I speak fluent sailor and gangbanger. My priest chuckled the day I almost fell at the altar rail receiving communion and said “shit” while she was placing the host in my hand. Ha. She understood and we laughed after the service.

I write real shit whether people like it or not and I think that’s why I have fans now. Ha. I know some people aren’t into my religious stuff but they tolerate it because my other work is interesting to them. Some read my stuff for the Christian content but probably because it’s not your regular Christian content. Ha.

I don’t even read articles like the ones you’re talking about because they are boring as fuck and say nothing new.

I write memoir and personal essays because that’s what I read.
