Thanks for this interesting take. I live in a duplex and we share a wall with quiet neighbors and we help each other out with little things. This is a residential neighborhood built entirely of townhouses, duplexes, and apartments. No houses.

It was a neighborhood thrown up quickly after Hurricane Katrina to get people into housing. The apartment is cheap and basic but it's just what I needed. I intend to always rent because I'm disabled and low income and can't fix things like plumbing or electrical.

The neighborhood, however, isn't great. It was much better before a certain family moved up here. We mostly stay inside and mind our own business.
