The thing is we don't want it because we aren't sentimental. We've been through too much in life and want memories not more of what we see as crap to dispose of. I'd not want anyone's apron, no matter who it was, that's so disrespectful in my eyes.

Our kids won't buy this stuff in vintage and antique stores because we don't go there buying stuff either. I know that older generations can't understand why their "collections" have little value to us, but I think it's definitely generational and for me, where am I going to put it even if I were to take it? I value my mental health too much to clutter up my space with other people's stuff.

I might want one or two things, or not, but definitely not more than that. I think I have one collection that one of my kids currently would value, but I've nothing else anyone would want and that's fine by me.

I've never had the time or energy to be sentimental, I've lost everything multiple times over. I don't even understand how people keep stuff for generations. I really do think it's just a thing the younger generations don't want to be burdened with and it's just a natural progression of society. It's nothing personal.
