Writing in Second Person is Underrated
It’s a great way to write if you can do it properly
It’s not always common for you to read a story told in second person but you know that of course it works for some stories. If you know what you are doing, it’s a fabulous point-of-view. Some of the best stories can be told in second person.
You don’t see second person often enough, which is a shame because it makes your reader the main character in your story.
There are many stories that you see written in first person and you understand that those stories are usually more personal, and you mostly enjoy them.
Maybe you wonder what the story would be like if you were to chang the point-of-view. It might change the tone of the entire story for you.
Third person narratives are common, something you are quite familiar with. You have surely written many stories narrated through first or third person.
It is a great way for you to appeal to the feelings of your readers, and perhaps they will show great sympathy for you.
Second person has the benefit of removing you from the story completely, and sometimes that is what you want to happen.
Once you have written many stories and gained a relatively good following, perhaps one day you should try writing your story in the second person.
You might be good at it.
